As Development Coordinator for the Mavericks, Guy brings over 35 years of experience in education, leadership, and effective coaching. His background as a Physical Education Teacher (20 years) and Vice Principal/ Head Teacher (15 years) has shaped a development-first philosophy focused on long-term athletic growth, accountability, and excellence.

Volleyball has been at the core of Guy’s coaching legacy. Guy inspired high-level participation of secondary students leading his school to consistent championship winnings within the Eastern Shores School Board, establishing one of the most successful programs in the region. Guy is the recipient of two awards. Firstly,  the CASSA Leaders of Distinction award presented by the Canadian Association of School System Administrators to members who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and made significant contributions to the field of education in Canada. Secondly, the Physical Education Teaching Excellence Award in recognition of a teacher who goes above and beyond, acting as a positive role model.

As a student athlete, Guy earned Athlete of the Year honors and twice captained his team as Regional Varsity Champions, later competing successfully against all secondary schools within Quebec.

​

At the university level, Guy played five seasons as a setter and right side with the UNB Reds, serving as team captain for two years. His playing career included Rookie of the Year, two MVP awards, AUS All-Star selection, and reception of the Ring of Distinction as a major contributor across four consecutive seasons.

​

Beyond competition, Guy has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to athletic development. For over 30 years, he served as coordinator and instructor for UNB Volleyball Camps, delivering inclusive training environments that emphasized technical mastery, game intelligence, leadership, and work ethic. Recently, he was awarded the Prix ExcElan Loisier et Sport 2025 for his dedication to sports and leisure activities in his home region of the Gaspesie.

Guy plays a central role in shaping the Mavericks’ athletic pathway, bringing a championship mindset, deep technical knowledge, and a passion for developing athletes to excel both on and off the court.
